> What is local anaesthesia with sedation?

The patient goes to the hospital, stays there for a couple of hours and is taken to the operating room where she is given sedatives and analgesics which make her feel sleepy; then she is given local anaesthesia and then she is operated. The effects of sedatives disappear in two or three hours and, once the patient recovers herself, she leaves the hospital and returns home. On the other hand, new sedatives cause an amnesia effect, which causes the patient to have only vague memories of the operation. Local anaesthesia reduces surgical risks and the total cost of the procedure.

> What is the difference between Botox and collagen?

Botox is a localized chemical denervation agent, that is to say, when applied in a specific area, it weakens or paralyses that muscular region within a 2-cm area from the injection. It is used to reduce or cancel the function of hyperkinetic muscles (increased action) which causes gestual wrinkles (a frowned look, a wrinkled front, crow's-foot, etc.).
Collagen is a filling agent placed in the depressions of the wrinkles in order to refill and soften them (wrinkles in the eyebrows, folds in the cheeks, thickening of lips or filling of deep scars, etc.).
